Coffee Anyone? (Exciting news below!)

I know I normally write all about tea, however, over the last few years I have also

developed quite a snobbery over my morning cup of coffee too!

I know what I like and would quite happily go without my morning caffeine if the coffee on offer isn't to my taste! There's a cafe local to me where I quite often grab a takeaway drink (and a fresh almond croissant), I actually prefer the taste of their decaf beans to the house roast and so I always order a decaf cortado, I drink my coffee for the taste, not simply for the caffeine requirements, I can always catch up on the caffeine with a nice cup of Irish Breakfast tea later.

Which Coffee?

Being mostly about loose leaf tea, we only have 3 coffees on the website but these are hand picked - my own favourite blend Espresso Creama - a medium roast with hints of chocolate and caramel, Columbian Medium Roast which is popular amongst cafe's in the area and an award winning Decaf Espresso that tastes like chocolate digestives because having to go without caffeine should never mean going without taste.

On the market stall, when a fellow coffee snob appears, I let them know that the taste they are about to enjoy in their takeaway drink is my own personal favourite Espresso Creama. Quite often they take a sip and then happily announce, "I'll take a packet of beans too please!"

Which Machine?

Delonghi bean to cup coffee machine
Old Machine

For a couple of years on the market stall I have been using a domestic Delonghi Dinamica Plus Automatic Bean to Cup coffee machine, this is an amazing machine for any of you out there on the hunt for a machine that will make you a barista quality coffee at the touch of the button - coffee ground, tamped and espressed and milk foamed to the perfect micro bubble consistency all without doing any of the work yourself!

New Machine

However, with this being a domestic machine it wasn't quite up to the task of the sheer volume of you that wanted a hot drink to carry whilst wandering around the wonderful artisan markets I have a stall on. It was constantly needing my attention to empty or fill something.

I had a conversation with my coffee supplier and bagged myself a second hand commercial bean to cup automatic machine by Jura. Wow, what a machine - now this is in a whole different league, I can happily let the machine make the drinks (20+ coffees to pick from with fully customizable size, strength and temperature) whilst I talk to my customers about tea and coffee, which after all is why I am there! It can even make 2 coffees at once, simply by pressing the selected drink twice and placing 2 cups under the split spout. Due to the size of the machine I can make up to 40 cups of coffee before it fills the waste coffee grounds container underneath and it holds 5 litres of water and 500g of coffee beans. I also have a milk fridge connected to the machine with a gauge on top telling me how much milk is left. This machine even does hot water for tea so on the really busy days when my 10 litre flasks of boiling water are run dry I can continue to sell teas and americanos.

Now here comes the exciting news-

We loved the machine so much we had a short drive to Jura's head office and are now proud approved suppliers of Jura's commercial coffee machine range!

Imagine going to your office / gym / corner shop / health clinic / opticians / etc and being able to grab yourself a perfect cortado, flat white or latte (or any of the 35 pre programmed coffees) or a tea or hot chocolate all by simply placing your cup under and pressing a button (and scanning a QR code to pay depending on the location of the machine).

Imagine as a business owner being able to provide quality hot drinks to fuel your workforce and customers with limited effort on your part.

The next chapter of Bry and Tea is to get out there and talk to anyone that will listen about these fantastic machines that can be supplied by a small personal company that will also look after all the drinks supplies - quality coffee beans, amazing tasting loose leaf teas (in the convenience of a plastic free pyramid tea bag - to be discussed in a future blog - more exciting news!), hot chocolates, sugars, stirrers, cups, lids.... anything they could possibly want we can provide.

All will be revealed on the dedicated page on the website, still a work in progress at this moment in time but click here to see the page so far. Everyone that buys a Jura machine from Bry and Tea automatically qualifies for a trade account with 20% discount on all our products including the loose leaf teas. This doesn't necessarily have to be a business owner - you may be interested in a new coffee machine at home that can cope with the sheer volume of coffee and hot beverages you, your family and your guests can consume!

So in conclusion, if you know anyone who may be interested in this please forward a link to this blog to them, you never know you may walk in to work one Monday morning to the smell of amazing coffee wafting from the break room!
