I have lots of people asking me on the market, "Can I use your coffee without a machine?" "Can I make your tea without a strainer?" It seems some of you out there enjoy the convenience of a cuppa without the faff. The majority of the time wanting speed and ease means sacrificing flavour and quality. I can now tell you, you can have it all! Fresh ground coffee or quality loose leaf tea ready in as little as 5 minutes with only a kettle, mug and spoon.
First up - tea. We finally received the long awaited order I have been so excited about for months - pyramid tea bags, with a cute little Bry & Tea label filled with our loose leaf tea. Available in Irish Breakfast and Earl Grey, for now... These are plastic free, organic mesh bags, the pyramid shape allows as much room as possible for the leaves to expand, the amount of tea in each bag chosen to give the perfect brew every time.
Next we have coffee. Most instant coffee is freeze dried powder that tastes slightly
plastic when brewed, this is the taste of Acrylamide a compound formed during high-heat processing that has been classified as a probable carcinogen, so not something you ideally want to be ingesting in large quantities. We now stock coffee bags - these are cloth bags filled with fresh ground columbian medium roast coffee and work just like a tea bag, simply put them in your cup, pour over hot (not quite boiling) water and leave for 3 minutes then squeeze, remove and add milk to taste. Also available in decaf.
