Russian Caravan
This is a delicious blend of Chinese green, oolong and black teas. Some Russian Caravan blends have a distinct smoky flavour from the addition of Lapsang Souchong, I personally prefer this blend as it doesn’t include Lapsang Souchong and therefore has a more sweet, earthy flavour with subtle tones that come from the green and oolong teas in the blend rather than an overly strong taste that comes from black teas
Origin and History
Legend has it that the traders travelling via camel trains on the silk roads from China to Russia would steal a scoop of tea from each tea chest and mix them together to make themselves some tea to drink, the resulting blend would have a mixture of green, oolong and black teas and would be a unique blend each and every journey
