To start with you need a strainer, an in cup one or a teapot with a strainer works well. Measure 1 teaspoon per cup of tea into your strainer. For a mug 1 teaspoon, for my 600ml tea pot 2 teaspoons, for my 1.1L teapot 4 teaspoons.
For best results always use fresh water out of the tap and only boil it once. Black teas need the water to be boiling so make sure to pour the water over as soon as the kettle is done, white and green teas need 80 degree water so allow the water to cool before you pour it over the tea, boiling water will burn green tea creating a bitter taste.
Each tea brews at a different rate, check the packet for the time required. Most start at 2 or 3 minutes, remove the strainer once the tea is brewed to perfection to stop it stewing.
Add milk, sugar or lemon to taste, sip back and relax, enjoying the warmth of a fresh cup of tea.
